WOW! Imagin, that you can try all dishes on the menu. Yes in Spain it is common to order as many tapas as you like. 



What is traditional Spanish tapas menu?

A tapa is a snack, appetiser. A small portion of any dish you like in a bar or restaurant. Tapas plates start around €3,- each portion. Sometimes you will get a free tapa. Just order a drink at the bar and wait a bit before you order your first tapas. Tapas, one of my favorite way of having food.

It can be a little overwhelming, so many dishes to choose from with different ingredients and names.

Extra information when ordering Tapas in spain!

  • The real fun starts around 1.30-3pm or 8.30 till 10.30pm, it get’s cooler outside and the city is coming alive after a hot sunny day.
  • Tapas means being on the move, you will not stay at one place for long. Is it crowded? Try it, could be one of the best tapas.
  • Where do you find good tapas? Look for several different bars next to each other in the little streets. Ignore the bars called “tapas bar” or a English menu.
  • Spot the locals and enjoy!

Gambas al ajillo is also called camarones al ajillo and is sometimes traditionally served sizzling hot in a little metal pan. Gambas means “prawn” and camarones means “shrimp.”

Jamón Ibérico

A mouth watering type of cured ham produced in Spain! Personally, I can not say witch one is better because I like them all. Chorizo, Pata negra, Serrano ham, Lomo. On the local food markets you can taste them before taking them home. They will add a vaccum bag for free. *Must be in your hold luggage.

A great dish for the summer since no cooking is required. Mix tuna with a bit of green onion and olives, then stuff into canned roasted red peppers.
Nowadays you can also find the new versions of stuffed red peppers with cheese or meat.
